London based international Jewish humanitarian organisation is seeking a Russian speaker with an interest in ageing-related issues, who is looking to develop their career in international development. The role sits within a small team and will play a key role in an international programmes.
The organisation creates opportunities for those out of work to become self-reliant;
bring dignity to older people and provide the UK Jewish community’s response at
times of international disasters. They have also recently extended their reach to assist Syrian refugees that have been accepted into the UK to find work.
The primary purpose of the role is to support the Programmes team in the management and development of life-changing programmes for Older People in the Former Soviet Union. This involves supporting the monitoring of programmes, capturing learning and working with r partner organisations to measure the impact of their grants.
The successfcul candidate will have:
Degree or equivalent
Demonstrable experience or knowledge about international development programming in the charitable sector
Demonstrable experience or knowledge about ageing-related issues
Demonstrable experience of developing and maintaining Monitoring and Evaluation processes in international development programming in the charitable sector
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work with overseas partners with varying levels of English
Good, working knowledge of Russian is essential
Ability to produce high quality written work under pressure and to deadlines
Strong administrative, research, organisational and IT skills
Demonstrable skills in financial management and budgeting
Ability to work in a team and use initiative
Confident and capable communicator
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Willingness to travel overseas for approximately 30 days per annum
Starting salary £23,000, superb benefits.
This could be a permanent position of fixed term contract role.
